Microsoft is reportedly testing a non-custodial cryptocurrency wallet for its Edge browser. The wallet can be used for crypto payments or to access DeFi and Web3 applications. It includes a cryptocurrency wallet user interface, decentralized application explorer, news feed, and the ability to buy cryptocurrency through Coinbase and MoonPay. According to Microsoft, the wallet is non-custodial, meaning the user is in complete control of their funds. While no indication has been given about which cryptocurrencies are supported, users will be able to manually add custom tokens. In addition, users would be able to buy and browse NFTs across major marketplaces with the wallet. Microsoft has not officially announced the project. Other major browsers, such as Opera and Brave, have recently added built-in crypto wallets as adoption grows.
